Lotus Elan Series One

This Lotus Elan series one race car, belonging to Penson Motorsport, had a very particular build spec. All wiring had to be as thin and lightweight as possible, 16 fuses for circuit isolation and safety, with relays to handle current instead of overloading switches and every connector was crimped, soldered and hot melt glue heat shrunk for reliability and waterproofing.

The instrument cluster needed to be quickly removable at a service area if access was needed so I designed and constructed a tidy loom with 3 quick release plug connectors which interfaced to the main loom. Behind the dashboard are the 6 relays and beside which are the 4 fuse boxes containing the 16 fuses.
